The
more modest and less imposing material superstructures indicate a spiritual
state of thought; and vice versa.
The house Mrs. Eddy now occupies is larger
than she needs, because she could not find exactly what she wanted; but it is a
plain house, and its furnishings are not extravagant. Mrs. Eddy has continued
to declare against the display of material things, and has said that the less
we have of them the better. Since God has taught her that matter is unreal and
Spirit is the only reality, any other position would be unscientific.
