Give no intelligence to sin, disease and death. Is God All-in-all? Do you believe this? Then is it not a sin to give intelligence and power to anything else? Then know there is no hypnotism to make you forget or me suffer. Give it no power; destroy it utterly. Mary Baker Eddy (Oakes, Richard, Course In Divinity and General Collectanea, p.92)

CONSISTENCY - 4
The
more modest and less imposing material superstructures indicate a spiritual
state of thought; and vice versa.
The house Mrs. Eddy now occupies is larger
than she needs, because she could not find exactly what she wanted; but it is a
plain house, and its furnishings are not extravagant. Mrs. Eddy has continued
to declare against the display of material things, and has said that the less
we have of them the better. Since God has taught her that matter is unreal and
Spirit is the only reality, any other position would be unscientific.

CONSISTENCY - 3
Let every Christian Scientist answer
honestly to his God the above questions, then obey the command, "Choose
you this day whom ye will serve." If it be Spirit, let it be Spirit; and
if it be matter, let him acknowledge it, and remove his name from the list of
Christian Scientists. This he must do, and will do if he is honest.
